Tummy time, for a baby who hates tummy time
Short, supervised attempts with room for breaks

Tummy time is awake, supervised play, and it does not have to begin with a long stretch on a mat. The Parent Infant Program team described helping families find positions a baby is comfortable trying, with breaks and support.
Kirstin described finding different ways to make tummy time more comfortable, rather than expecting every baby to enjoy lying on a mat.
I would ask for a demonstration, including how to support my baby and when to stop for a break. A position that works for someone else’s baby may need adjusting for mine
I would start with a short, comfortable attempt, stay with the baby, and ask for a demonstration if I was unsure. Babies should sleep on their backs; tummy time is for when they are awake.
