What should a toddler get from an art class?
Joss from Pitter Painter describes why the experimenting matters as much as the finished picture

Joss puts freedom to experiment first for toddlers. For older children, she described building a vocabulary of colours, brush strokes and composition so they have more ways to express themselves
Pitter Painter offers art classes for toddlers and older children. Joss describes art as a companion through good days and bad days, and wants children to have that too
It is easy to look at what comes home from an art class and judge the session by that. I asked Joss what she wants toddlers to get from it. Her focus was on what happens while they are making it.
I asked what she wants toddlers to get from a class
“For toddlers, it’s about the freedom of expression.”
“I want them to be able to get the tools and experiment with them, developing their own sense of understanding the world.”
I wanted to know how that changes for older children
“I really want to help them build their own creative vocabulary from colors to brush strokes to composition and many more.”
Joss wants children to be able to express what is in their heads and hearts, even when words are not enough.
See where your child spends their time and what they choose to try, as well as what they bring home
