Spring Learning brings a range of early-years programmes into its Wan Chai centre, including sensory play, movement, music, Mandarin and cooking. Parents and caregivers take part in many of the younger classes, with activities they can continue at home.

English
A real recipe in a lovely child-sized kitchen. We liked the sense of doing something useful, though it asked more sitting and following along than our usual playgroup.
What the session was like
Aprons on, shoes off and entry through a child-sized door
Hand washing, chopping and preparing ingredients
Mixing and watching the food cook
Closing song and food boxed to take home
Free play afterwards
What we loved
Small sinks, seats and doors, and taking home something our child had helped make
The changing recipes, from mango sticky rice to meatballs and apple salad
What we noticed
The group cooked together in an organised routine, with little scope to change the pace for one child
There was less roaming during the cooking. We would bear that in mind on a day when our child wanted to keep moving
Worth knowing
We took home our food and a printed menu. Check the recipe and ingredients before booking
We found a tucked-away supercar café downstairs for coffee and a bite afterwards
